Make it, share it & sell it: The NTTY Strategy 2019-2020
Make it, share it and sell it. We like that heading. Straight to the core of our business. As a slogan, it helps us focus. Fits good for a software company getting closer to the big breakthrough. But these words are actually not primarily about ourselves. They are about our customers. Our vision is to make the world less complicated, and therefore our customers must actually experience how we make things simpler for them. So, here is our strategic view on how to help our own business, by helping our customers to make it, share it and sell it.
Too many handles digitalization by saving a little time when putting forms and the stuff that has been handwritten and printed, into a digital container like a PC or a drive somewhere. It’s nice to get rid of some papers and free some office space, but what many companies could do better, is to analyze the core business processes and let new, tailored digital systems elevate them to the next level. Here is an example from one industry: The competition is tough among the 200 breweries in Norway. The financial situation is pretty hard for many, and there is not much time to waste. Making craft beer is not very digital in its nature. It’s about milling, boiling, meshing, fermenting, and so on. It’s really a craftsman’s job. Too many breweries have put their valuable data, history, sheets and logs into a rudimentary spreadsheet, closed it and not actually got very much out of it. But one year ago, we decided to change their workday. By introducing digitalized support in the process of making beer, we’ve given more than twenty breweries new possibilities: Information sharing among the employees, common archives with information from previous batches, live updates on the consumption of ingredients and calculation of volumes, transactions and reports to the government. Everything is part of the same flow and helping the breweries to concentrate on the most important thing: Making the best beer. NTTY contributes to businesses by creating systems that simplifies the very process of making.
Okay. So we made it. Then…what? What’s next? Share it, of course! The world is full of people with expert knowledge and high quality products, fighting against the big ones on marketing and distribution. This is often a serious obstacle that reduces the chances of reaching critical volumes and income. The business world need to share information in an understandable, efficient, non-expensive way. So, what we’re up to is to make our unique platform for product information sharing available for more players in more industries. How nice would it be to have only one place where you define all the content and specifications of your products, and then share it with whoever you want, automatically between computers or people, and having full control with the information flow? Just update the information about your product in one single place, and then all your systems and contacts are informed immediately. Being inspired of the acronyme ‘SKU’ (Stock Keeping Unit), we have made the sharing platform Skued, where we invite those who “made it”, to share it instantly. With the speed of Internet. First, they made it, then they skued it. And then everybody knows about the product, or the changes, and the lifecycle status. After all, distribution is everything, isn’t it?
And then…yes, we admit: Helping companies to sell things is a very common service provided via the Internet. How many webshops and sales engines are available for those who want to sell something? Thousands! But in our opinion, there are some pieces that may be puzzled in new ways, and some potential that has not yet been realized. Imagine that the result of your production process (make it) is immediately communicated (share it), with all relevant info like IDs and barcodes, Life Cycle Status, Packaging, Weight, Compliance with standards and relations to previous products or NextGen versions. And that your inventory, the prices, lead times and so on are immediately calculated and shared with the potential buyers. Then, transactions can be set up and closed in a Supply Chain that has the necessary info available already, since you work seamlessly all the way from production to sales. In 2019, we’re completing this chain of systems that help companies make it, share it and sell it, to support the entire process. The value of combining your company’s unique production process, with the easiest way of distributing product information, and then move from ‘offering’ to ‘closing’ automatically with all necessary information available and documented, could be huge. Make it, share it and sell it. That’s what you should focus on. You have a strategy for your business, and we help you make it a little less complicated.
